Lutung Kasarung; Bird nest inspired restaurant at Dusun Bambu

I've been to this place quite some time now and finally had my moment to try the Lutung Kasarung Restaurant last month. Yes, I did mention I had wanted to try this since the first time I plan to go there. It was like six months ago. so here are the things I can share about the place.

You'll be charged to dine in this place. Yes, for small room (fit for up to 6 people) there's Rp 100k charge per hour. and for bigger room like Rp.150k if am not mistaken. I guess it's due to the fact it's unique and many want to try. On the other side, they put cheaper price to the food compare to Burangrang restaurant. Maybe it's because you already pay for the place. The most expensive food was Rp 40k and Rp 25k for the drink.

The place. I have to say they need to make some adjustment and changes. For example, there's no call button in the room. I barely saw waiter stand by anywhere near. So when I need something, I have to walk to the waiters' cabin. Lucky I was in the nearest cabin so it wasn't that far. a bell or something so you don't have to walk when you need the waiter. One thing that quite annoying was the passerby. They were a lot of them. It happens everyday. from family to amateur models and photographer taking photos with the cabins as the background. Disturbing, really

Then comes the food. They served traditional food of Indonesia, mostly Sundanese. They played safe by serving comfort food that most people like. Unlike Burangrang Restaurant that has twist on some of the menu. We ordered soto sulung, soto ayam/chicken soto, colenak, strawberry milkshake and lime squash.

Lime squash (Rp 20k)

Colenak (Rp 17.5k)

Chicken soto (Rp 40k)

Nothing special about the soto. It didn't suit the price. I was expecting something with that price. but from the presentation to the flavor it was just an ordinary soto.

Soto Sulung (Rp 40k)

Same with the chicken soto. Nothing special. You may find more delicious soto elsewhere with cheaper price. I guess you have to pay more just because of the place you're having them.

Strawberry milkshake (Rp 25k)

All I know what makes a milkshake a milkshake is combination of milk, ice cream and "the flavor". the good thing was it made from real strawberry. not just a flavor or a syrup. But it didn't quite like a strawberry milkshake to me. less of a milkshake.
