Spring at Cacaote

Cacaote Patisserie, Brasserie & Bar

I've been meaning to write this since last September. So late I know. But I get new chance to rewrite this down so here it goes. :)

I suppose many of you, if you happen to live in Jakarta knew this place by now. And they launched new spring menu last March. Not only cake, but also eating menu like appetizer and main course and beverage.

Located on one of busy street in South Jakarta, Senopati #80, makes it quite accessible. Yes, after you go through the traffic. many reasons I have to visit this place often. First, of course the cake and the sweet. am a sweet tooth person and my bf likes their macaroons. second, it's a good place to hangout and gather with your love once. third, the place is chic and forth, I had the most delicious risotto I've ever tasted few month ago.

From outside, you can see tall windows and stairs to the main door. as you walk in, you're in France. Hahaha, at least the vibe and the interior make you feel like it. You'll see chandeliers, brown/bronzer-ish curtains, mirror on the wall, white table cloth, chair with floral cover. You know, chic and mature feminine, in my words that how I describe it. And of course the dessert counter.

The second floor is more masculine place, with dark walk and dark deep color of tables and chair. This is smoking area while the first floor is non smoking one. The bar is located on this floor along with eight seat VIP room.

and newly open is the third floor. more like garden theme with glass roof. But it only being use for special event.

And some of the spring menu that we (me and my family) ordered:

Appetizer. Crusted Brie De Meaux. I searched online, it's
brie cheese from town of Meaux. Serve with morelloo cherry
compote and onion jam. My suggestion will be to have it all in a bite
and let it mix in your mouth to compliment each other

Starter. Pan-seared Wagyu Beef "Tataki", serve with
soft quail egg, wasabi aioli, shaved fennel and shimeji.

Crunchy nut. good combination of easy-melt-in your mouth
and crunchiness of cashew

vanilla mille feuille

This is my personal favorite. Hazelnut eclair.
Been a fan of nutella spread for years and kinder bueno
made me grin when I see this

Salted caramel. Not exactly spring menu since they have
served it since last year. one of the early sweet and love by many.
including me.

Vanilla echair. The fact that we had three different eclairs
because they are must-try-dessert. I like it they not too sweet,
the pastry not soggy, and they enough to share so you can try
many cakes.

Pear, Rum and Caramel. I'm not a big fan of fruit cake.
Sometimes it smell perfume-ish and the fruit taste like
canned fruit. But this quite good. hind of sour from the pear,
good combination to the caramel.

Pssst, rumor has it that this spring menu available til September.
